Hello My Name Is...

Dr. Penne L. Wilson

I bring to Ralph J Bunche Academy a 40 year commitment to quality education for children. I have been a classroom teacher, an administrator, a program developer, and a program evaluator. I have a B.A. in English with a minor in French, a M.A. in Educational Administration and a Ph.D. in Organizational Learning and Instructional Technology with emphases in Distance Education and Instructional Media.

As one of the members of the founding board of Ralph J Bunche Academy, I am committed to the vision and the mission of this school. I believe that together we can create a meaningful and engaging learning environment for children so that they can maintain a joy for learning throughout their lifetimes and maximize their individual potential. We do this by setting high standards for personal achievement, by providing students with well-trained, passionate teachers, and by providing the necessary learning tools for our rapidly changing world. We also not only recognize but also incorporate their diversity and their heritage into the projects that we develop and the curriculum that we teach.

      Outside of school, I am a mother and a grandmother and I enjoy spending time with my
      family. I also love to travel, and to read, and to learn something new every day.
